Planning a RapidRac™ Installation

We custom build all RapidRac when we receive your order. The general rules are:

- RapidRac is currently available only at 10 degrees fixed tilt

- All modules are racked landscape

- The East/West dimension will be the length of the modules (rounded up to the nearest inch) x the number of modules in the row

- In the North/South direction you must have ballast/module/ballast/module/ballast…so you add an additional ballast-only pan on the north of each column

- The North/South dimension will be [the width of the module (rounded up to the nearest inch) + 16.125” for the ballast pan] all multiplied by the number of modules in the column PLUS an additional 16.125” for the extra, north ballast pan

- Additional ballast pans are required where a column stops for a hole in the racking to accommodate an air conditioner or similar obstruction on the roof. The extra ballast pans will be at the north end of the shortened column, which is the south end of the hole

- There are pictures and an installation video here.

NOTE: Module manufacturers make minor changes in their frames without notice, so we require that you attach to your order a data sheet for the exact module you are racking.

Ordering RapidRac™

We custom make RapidRac to the exact specifications of the module you will be racking. Every RapidRac part number you supply must have the correct four (4) digit suffix as that is what identifies the module. In order to getthat suffix precisely correct, we have two (2) options:

Option A – Ahead of your order, contact Unirac Order Entry and send the module data sheet. Your Order Entry contact will respond to you with the proper suffix to order.

Option B – Send in your order with part number and the suffix you believe to be right (from the Excel price list available only to distributors) and the module data sheet. We’ll check it and Order Entry will get back to you, requiring you to change your PO if your suffix is wrong.

In summary, all RapidRac orders must be accompanied by a module data sheet commonly found at module manufacturer’s website. The RapidRac produced will be matched to the data sheet you submit to us, so be sure to send precisely the right one.
