Solar Novus Today - July 14, 2011 - Unirac, a leading PV mounting manufacturer, has gone paperless in their offices by putting material online and also by using QR codes, so that people can download information to their iPhones and other devices. They no longer use plastic water bottles, but give each employee a reusable bottle. Unirac is ISO 14001 compliant, for which you need six procedures. Unirac has gone far beyond that, according to Marcelo Gomez, Director of Marketing. The company has a “Green Team,” which looks for ways to save and reuse. They recycle wood pallets, they have solar on the roof, they’ve replaced old lighting with high efficiency bulbs and manufacturing has gone to a ten hour a day, four day work week—saving loads of energy, Gomez reports.
