Unirac Launches New PV Mounting System for Flat Roof Arrays

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, September 24, 2007 – Unirac today announced the launch of the RapidRac G10 PV Mounting System which is being showcased at Solar Power 2007, in Long Beach, CA, from September 24 to 27, 2007. The RapidRac G10 provides the solar market with one of the fastest, simplest and most cost-effective racking systems for commercial flat roof installations.

he RapidRac G10 combines innovative technology with experienced customer input to deliver requirements for reduced installation time and increased labor savings, along with lighter weight and minimal penetration. The unique design of the RapidRac G10 allows installation in less than half the time as the primary competitive products, requiring only 2 tools and 6 parts to complete the install, a significant reduction over current offerings. The flexibility of design allows it to meet all weight, height and a broad range of wind conditions. The RapidRac G10 accommodates most PV modules, providing the market with tremendous versatility and choice.

In addition, the RapidRac G10 provides a highly competitive price per watt. Unirac estimates that the simplicity and ease of installation could provide labor savings of as much as $10,000 on a 250kw project.

“It’s an exciting time for Unirac as we continue to innovate and expand our product offering,” said Doug May, Unirac CEO. “We work very closely with our customers to ensure we deliver a product that meets and exceeds their requirements, and the RapidRac G10 delivers that. We are excited to showcase our expanded line of products at Solar Power 2007, the biggest North American tradeshow for solar energy.”

The RapidRac G10 was developed through significant computational fluid dynamics and wind tunnel engineering. The efficient design, built at a fixed 10 degree tilt angle, optimizes natural convective cooling of the modules and was designed to meet the requirements of current applicable building codes. The RapidRac G10 can be installed in a variety of configurations, and using different design features, can be installed with minimal or no penetrations. Unirac is also introducing the RapidFoot, an optional attachment accessory for the RapidRac system, designed to provide additional support for higher seismic restraint and ballast trade off. The RapidRac and RapidFoot products include a standard 10-year warranty and are available to purchase today from Unirac’s distribution network, http://www.unirac.com/unirac/uni_pdf/distrib.pdf.
