Unirac Announces Enhancements to CLICKSYS Residential Line
Now Available; Dark Anodized Finish, Enphase Energy Microinverter Mounting Kits and Wire Management Clips.
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO — August 25, 2009. Unirac Inc., North America’s leading manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) mounting solutions, today announced a new dark anodized finish option and Enphase Energy microinverter mounting kit for CLICKSYS.
The dark anodized version of CLICKSYS is designed to complement dark framed modules, providing installers with increased choices and homeowners with improved aesthetics. The Enphase Energy microinverter installation solution from Unirac has been engineered to quickly and easily install microinverters directly to CLICKSYS beams. These enhancements to the CLICKSYS product line reflect Unirac’s ongoing commitment to provide industry-leading technology to installers. Click here to download the CLICKSYS Part List (PDF). “CLICKSYS is not just a product, it is a complete solution. Unirac continues to innovate by working closely with customers to define the needs of the PV mounting industry, and apply technology already proven in solar and other industries,” said Juan Suarez, Unirac Director of Engineering and Program Management. “We are pleased to offer these new options to customers, right on the heels of introducing CLICKSYS.”
Unirac is also introducing a stainless steel wire management clip that can be used with any module and Unirac mounting system, including CLICKSYS, to secure module wires to the module frame. This option is available in a single wire and a two wire design. Unirac’s wire management clip reduces installation time, minimizes errors and delivers a clean professional look to the project.
Introduced in May 2009 to enthusiastic response, CLICKSYS is engineered for flush roof mounting applications and offers superior aesthetics with great value. The unique I-beam design of CLICKSYS optimizes strength, eliminates excess material found in other systems, and offers a cost effective solution as low as 10 cents per watt. With no drilling required and “click and secure” connections eliminating the need for nuts and bolts, CLICKSYS gets installers off the roof in nearly half the time when compared to other competitive products.
“After my first installation using Unirac’s CLICKSYS solution, I was sold,” said Bruce Bosworth, Owner of San Diego Solar Install. “It installs almost 80% faster than the systems I’d worked with before, which saves us a significant amount of time and money. I welcome the introduction of these new solutions, and look forward to working with Unirac as they continue to deliver the best in PV mounting technology.”
These new solutions are conveniently available nationwide from Unirac’s network of stocking distributors. Visit www.clicksys-beam.com to find a stocking distributor and instant access to all documentation and a wide variety of online tools. The CLICKSYS website is also accessible from mobile and PDA devices.
A Pressing Need for Design and Engineering Standards
Renewable Energy World - March 7, 2011 - The solar industry has historically applied its technical resources, research dollars and time to increasing the efficiency, driving down the cost and improving the reliability of modules and inverters. The infrastructure that supports these solar modules, however, has largely been ignored probably because it does not generate any revenue for investors, businesses or homeowners.
Unirac’s 30% Share of the North American PV Rack Market
Greentech Media - February 28, 2011 - As module prices drop, innovation in BoS and racking becomes even more important. Unirac has a 30 percent market share of the North American solar racking market. Although mounting systems are not the most exciting components in the solar industry, a 30 percent market share is still impressive.
Mounting systems: strategies and competitive landscapes
pv magazine - February 25, 2011 - Mounting equipment may not be the most high-profile PV component, but it is a critical piece where innovative designs can make a big difference to costs. In an interview, Unirac executives discuss their strategies for the North American and U.S. solar markets, and the competitive landscape of a sector that is getting crowded.
US President sets lofty clean energy goal
pv magazine - January 27, 2011 - While setting an ambitious clean energy goal appeals to solar company executives, many are no doubt wondering what specific plans will get the country there. And, specifically, how will the plans benefit the solar industry. Doug May, CEO of Unirac, a racking system manufacturer in New Mexico, said he was pleased to hear the President’s message, but the message hardly affects what he must do to ensure the company’s growth this year and next.
