Ray Piontek Leads Unirac Sales and Marketing
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, July 31, 2007 — Ray Piontek, a seasoned executive, has joined Unirac as Vice President for World-Wide Sales, Marketing and Service.
“Ray has a great record for growing sales and developing strong distribution channels,” said Unirac CEO Doug May. “He understands how to build teams and collaborate closely with customers and partners. We’re delighted to have his expertise on board.” Piontek has previous solar industry experience as a Senior Director of Sales for Xantrex Corporation of Vancouver, Canada, a world leader in advanced power systems.
“Unirac has already demonstrated its potential in the worldwide solar industry,” he said. “I look forward to helping the Unirac team realize that potential in new markets with new channel partners. Developing the growing Unirac team is also key. Building infrastructure during periods of rapid growth is a challenge I welcome.”
At Xantrex, Piontek developed international distribution channels and accelerated growth in North American markets. He has also held senior management and sales positions with Apple Computer, Autodesk, and most recently Diversified Software.
As a former Naval Aviator, he attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy and holds a degree in Marketing from Boston College.
Another recent arrival is Collin Rhodes, who joined Unirac as Manager of Applications Engineering. He arrives with 18 years experience in industrial engineering.
“Collin is a great addition,” said May. “His bias towards listening to the customers and developing programs that are of value to them will further enhance our industry-leading support and service.”
Rhodes has worked in manufacturing since 1999, including facilities design for General Electric. Previously he gained experience in the power electric power and semiconductor industries.
Rhodes has a master’s in engineering management from National Technical University in Fort Collins, Colorado, and a bachelor’s in engineering from Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo, California. He is an Albuquerque native who returned to the city in 1999.
